Senator up by 16 over State Rep.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — New polling reinforces the fact that Democrat Texas State Rep. Rick Noriega faces an uphill battle in his race against Sen. John Cornyn for the U.S. Senate.
In a poll conducted by Baselice & Associates, Inc., Cornyn has a 16-point lead over Noriega, 49 to 33 — further dousing Democrat enthusiasm based on misleading polling in the past.
Conducted between May 20 and 25, 2008, the poll has a margin of error of plus/minus 3.1 percent.
“Sen. John Cornyn has been a strong voice for Texas, and the results of this poll highlight his strength throughout the state,” NRSC Communications Director Rebecca Fisher said. “Sen. Cornyn’s message is resonating with voters and we are confident it will continue to do so though November.”
