JACKSON — U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker’s campaign finance records show he’s raised $1 million in three months.
The documents released by Wicker on Tuesday also show he has nearly $3 million in cash as he heads into the final three months of campaigning before voters go to the polls to choose between him and former Gov. Ronnie Musgrove.
A spokesman for Musgrove’s campaign said he would file his report Tuesday night. The candidates faced a midnight deadline.
Wicker and Musgrove are vying for the seat that Republican Trent Lott vacated in 2007. The winner of the Nov. 4 race will serve the remaining four years of the term.
Gov. Haley Barbour appointed Wicker to hold the seat until the November election, which coincides with the general election for president.
