WASHINGTON, D.C. — It’s comedian-turned Senate candidate Al Franken’s birthday today. And we all know birthdays are a time for reminiscing. So the NRSC would like to take Al Franken down memory lane.
Two years ago, Al Franken moved to Minnesota to run for the Senate! (Chicago Tribune, 1/8/06)
Three months ago, Franken got busted for failing to pay Workers Comp in New York! (Star Tribune, 3/12/08)
It cost him $25,000. (Star Tribune, 3/12/08)
One month ago, Franken admitted he failed to pay income taxes in 17 states! (The Associated Press, 4/29/08)
It cost him $70,000. (The Associated Press, 4/29/08)
For two months, he’s been dodging the media and refusing tough questions.
And for the last few weeks his excuses have been hard to believe.
“Happy 57th Al Franken,” NRSC Communications Director Rebecca Fisher said. “Here’s wishing you a much happier 58th year back home in New York City.”
